Christmas windows in Louth’s shops are full of sparkle and colour, enticing one to peer in, even if hurrying by. This town is blessed with the kind of shop that would have been familiar to our forebears, not in actual goods, but in spirit. Particularly in a frosty dusk, or on a snowy afternoon, those many shops which have maintained their traditional facades and windows exude more than glowing warmth and inviting hues, they offer positive, potent enhancement of Louth’s unspoiled character and advertise its old-fashioned charm. Louth’s architectural heritage is alive and well, and still in current, daily use. Long may that continue.
